Specific basal ganglia, amygdala, and cortical neurons are associated with borderline personality disorder (BPD)
Borderline personality disorder (BPD) is clinically significant and poorly understood biologically. We tested which human brain cell types preferentially use genes associated with BPD, implicating two major types of neurons: LAMP5 interneurons and D2 medium spiny neurons. These interrogable cell types provide new avenues for investigating the neurobiology of BPD.
