Structural studies of hepatitis C virus non-structural protein-5b of genotype 4a
Hepatitis C virus genotype 4a non-structural protein-5b is an RNA-dependent RNA-polymerase responsible for the efficient virus genome replication. It has been of great interest as a drug target. The availability of the crystal structure of HCV genotype 4a NS5b would facilitate the structure-based drug design. Here we report the X-ray structure of NS5b solved at 3.1 [A] resolution, setting the groundwork for the above-described therapeutic strategy.
